West Ham defender Guy Demel has admitted he is ready to return to Hamburger SV after spending last two and a half years with the Hammers.
The Ivorian, who also represented Nimes, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, joined HSV in 2005 and went on to spend six years at Imtech Arena before moving to Upton Park.
And despite enjoying two very successful seasons with the Hammers and the fact he is still considered a first team regular by boss Sam Allardyce, Demel appears ready to return to Hamburg.
The 32-year-old flew in from London to support the Red Shorts in the relegation play-offs against Greuther Furth and he is now prepared to help HSV in this difficult moment for the club.
“I would be happy to help HSV,” the powerful defender confessed to Sport Bild.
The German newspaper has suggested that Demel will attempt to rescind his contract with West Ham in order to join Hamburg on a free transfer, while the player is also ready to take a significant pay cut to return to Imtech Arena.
