Manchester City have reportedly found common ground with the representatives of Josko Gvardiol over the personal terms for the Croatian defender.

Gvardiol is ready to make the move, but RB Leipzig, who still own his contract for another four years, still need some persuading to agree to sell under reasonable terms. For the time being, they’re determined to make the 21-year-old the most expensive defender ever should he leave the Red Bull Arena this summer, and it remains to be seen if City can do something to make them relax their demands.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has played down suggestions that he might leave the club to succeed Christophe Galtier at Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Arteta led Arsenal to a second-place finish in the Premier League, losing the title race to his former employers Manchester City, and he will feel that there’s unfinished business for him to do at the Emirates. Speaking to the press, he said he was “grateful” to be doing the job he’s in.

“I can only say that I’m happy at Arsenal,” the Spaniard said when asked about the PSG rumours.

“I feel loved and also appreciated by the owners. I’ve lot of things to do for this club. I’m very happy and really, trust me, incredibly grateful for being Arsenal’s manager.

Bayern to enter Mount race?

Bayern Munich have reportedly decided to step up their interest in Mason Mount, seeking to take advantage of Manchester United’s slow progress in Chelsea talks. The 24-year-old midfielder was believed to be keen on an Old Trafford move, but United have had three offers rejected so far by Chelsea and threatened to make no more.

The deal is not dead yet, but Bayern’s interest creating a race for Mount’s signature will only make United’s mission more difficult. Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel obviously knows Mount very well, having coached him at Chelsea for around 20 months, during which the Blues won the Champions League.

According to various reports, Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is close to completing a move to Saudi Arabia to join Al-Nassr. The Nerazzuri should bank in more than €20 million for the services of the 30-year-old Croatia international, and they’re expected to reinvest that money into the team straight away, while saving around €4m per year on Brozovic’s wages.

The deal is expected to be concluded by Sunday evening.

Arsenal set Balogun price amid Leipzig rumours

Arsenal will reluctantly sell Folarin Balogun this summer, it’s been reported, but only if a potential suitor comes with an offer of at least £35 million for the services of the 20-year-old striker. RB Leipzig, who have a good track record when it comes to developing young players, have apparently expressed an interest.

Balogun spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Stade Reims, where he impressed by scoring 22 goals in 39 matches in all competitions.

But despite his indisputable talent, with Kai Havertz reportedly set to join Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah as the attacking options at the disposal of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, it’s hard to imagine Balogun having a future at the Emirates.
