Speaking to German newspaper WAZ (as relayed by Sky Sports), Erling Haaland dismissed the rumours he could leave Borussia Dortmund this summer after only half a season since arriving from RB Salzburg.
Prior to the move, the striker was heavily linked with Manchester United, but his choice to join Dortmund instead has arguably shown him to be more focused on his development than earning a fortune. His incredible goalscoring record in Austria may have been questioned as a true sign of quality for a while, but he has proven himself very capable of finding the opposition net in the German Bundesliga too. Overall, his club-level tally this season stands at 44 goals from 40 appearances. Impressive indeed.
With Dortmund falling at the feet of Bayern Munich in the title race once more, reports suggested the 6’4″ Norwegian, who is yet to turn 20, would be looking for pastures new this summer. However, Haaland says that he signed a long-term contract (until 2024) with one of the ‘biggest clubs in the world’ and isn’t even thinking about leaving the Signal Iduna Park.
