Erling Haaland of RB Salzburg claims he is unfazed by all the attention he has been getting and the transfer speculations regarding his next club.
The 19-year-old has so far had an incredible season, with a total of 35 goal involvements (28 goals, seven assists) in as little as 21 games in all competitions. By comparison, Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, who just won his record sixth Ballon d’Or, has ‘only’ 14 goals and eight assists in 15 games.
Such numbers have, naturally, attracted the attention of all the top clubs around Europe. Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich, as well as Salzburg’s sister-club in the Bundesliga RB Leipzig, have all been credited with interest in the striker’s services. The position his quality has landed him in would often turn the head of such a young player, but it seems Haaland’s feet remain firmly on the ground, as he prepares to take on one of the potential suitors mentioned – Liverpool, in the last round of the Champions League group phase.
His aim at the moment, as he puts it, is to focus on Salzburg and himself as a player.
