Haaland respects Dortmund contract

Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland has said he respects his contract with his current club amid growing speculation about his future.

Having scored 41 goals in as many appearances in all competitions in 2020-21, the 20-year-old striker understandably drawn attention from all big clubs across Europe. Over the last few months, he’s been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, and while Barcelona and Bayern have dropped out of the race due to financial implications of a potential transfer, Real are believed to have a plan to unite him with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe in the near future.

Speaking to Viaplay, Haaland himself said he had great ambitions, but he would still respect the terms of the contract which has him bound to Dortmund until the summer of 2024. He also expressed relief that the team securing a place in next season’s Champions League with a fine run of results towards the end of the campaign that’s just ended.
