According to Turin-based publication Tuttosport, Erling Haaland of RB Salzburg has verbally agreed a deal to join Juventus.
Haaland’s numbers this season are incredible – a total of 35 goal involvements (28 goals and seven assists) in 22 games in all competitions. Naturally, such an output has attracted the interests of all the top clubs around Europe in the 19-year-old’s services. Reportedly, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Juventus were all keeping an eye on the situation, and he has even visited some of their training facilities.
However, it seems the Serie A champions have won the race. If so, it will be a heavy blow for the other suitors, especially for United who were believed to be the favorites to land the young Norwegian, given their financial muscle and the fact that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer worked with him at Molde and spoke of him highly.
On the other hand, Juventus will be hoping that in the talented forward they’ve found what they sought – a long-term successor to 34-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo. In Turin, Haaland should be earning €7.5 million per year.
