Hamburg have completed the signing of forward Jacques Zoua from Basel on a three-year contract.
The Cameroon international scored nine goals and provided two assists in 30 starts for the Swiss club last term, subsequently earning himself a move to the Bundesliga.
He will work under former Basel manager Thorsten Fink at the Imtech Arena, and has revealed his happiness at reuniting with the 45-year-old.
“I’m delighted to be here, at this great club, in this great city,” he told the club’s official website.
“HSV are a great club and the Bundesliga is a big thing for me, but Thorsten Fink was certainly one of the reasons why I chose to come here.
“HSV want to challenge for a place in Europe and that is what I want too. I can’t wait to fight for this goal with my team.”
Hamburg finished seventh in the Bundesliga in 2012-13, narrowly missing out on qualification for the UEFA Europa League.
Fink will hope that Zoua can emulate 12-goal forward Son Heung-Min’s contribution to his side’s last campaign, having lost his services to Bayer Leverkusen.
