Bundesliga outfit Hamburg are clearly not too concerned by the heavy interest in talented striker Jan-Fiete Arp.
The 17-year-old has started playing on regular basis after showing a great deal of potential at youth level, starting 3 Bundesliga matches and scoring 2 goals.
With his contract due to expire in June 2019, top European clubs have been casting admiring glances his way, but the player’s agent has denied reports suggesting that Chelsea have won the race for his signature.
“There is nothing in the rumours,” agent Jurgen Milewski explained to Bild.
Even though Arsenal and Manchester City are also keen, Hamburg boss Markus Gisdol believes the club officials will persuade the youngster to remain at Imtech Arena.
“I will not comment on these pre-Christmas fairy tales. Fiete’s contract does not expire tomorrow, Jens Todt (general manager) and Heribert Bruchhagen (CEO) will take the necessary measures,” Gisdol commented.
The highly rated striker impressed playing for Germany Under-17 side, bagging 15 goals in 17 appearances.
