Hamburger SV have confirmed they are interested in taking Wolfsburg striker Ivica Olic back to Imtech Arena.
The Croatian forward spent some of the best years of his career at HSV, having joined the club from CSKA Moscow, and went on to score 29 goals in 78 Bundesliga outings.
He has since represented Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, but it appears a return to Imtech Arena is on the cards.
With his contract with the Wolves due to expire at the end of the season, Olic has suggested that he will not be staying at the club for much longer, and team’s recent uptrend in fortunes do not seem to have changed his mind.
Meanwhile, Hamburg are very interested in signing the 34-year-old footballer, as witnessed by Oliver Kreuzer’s comments.
“Olic is an interesting player with HSV past and still enjoys a high reputation among the fans,” the HSV sporting director confessed to Sport Bild.
The veteran forward has proved he still has a couple of good years ahead of him, having bagged 7 goals in 16 Bundesliga starts this term.
