Hamburg eyeing Ivica Olic

Bundesliga strugglers Hamburger SV are considering a move for former striker Ivica Olic, Bild can reveal.

With difficult survival battle on the horizon, the Red Shorts are desperate to reinforce the squad before the January window closes.

And the latest reports suggest that the club have made Wolfsburg’s Ivica Olic their number one target.

HSV star Rafael van der Vaart has invited the Croatian to return to Imtech Arena, while the player himself appears eager to move back to Hamburg.

Seeing as Olic is no longer considered a first team regular at Wolfsburg, the Wolves are ready to negotiate the sale, but have slapped a €1.5 million price tag on his services.

While the club chiefs continue to work on the deal that should see the veteran striker re-sign for Hamburg, they are also looking at Inter Milan’s Zdravko Kuzmanovic and FC Basel star Marcelo Diaz as potential midfield reinforcements.
