Greek international defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos has failed to make an impression for Bundesliga high-flyers RB Leipzig so far in the 2016-17 season.
Having featured only once in the Bundesliga this term, Papadopoulos is looking towards the January move away from the club.
German media outlet Bild is suggesting that the 24-year-old is currently wanted by Hamburger SV, who are desperately searching for winter reinforcements.
HSV are currently rock bottom of Bundesliga table and the only German club without a single win this term.
Having conceded 25 goals in 11 league games, Hamburg are primarily in market for defensive signings and out-of-favour Papadopoulos is believed to be topping the wish list.
Currently on loan at RB Leipzig from Bayer Leverkusen, the Greek international has expressed his desire to work with Marcus Gisdol and is holding out for another loan spell hoping to gain more first-team action at the Volksparkstadion.
Papadopoulos is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2020.
