(GSM) – German outfit Hamburg have completed the signing of Real Madrid’s Ruud van Nistelrooy. The veteran Real Madrid striker has joined the Bundesliga club Hamburg on an 18-month deal.
Interest in the Dutch striker had mounted after the player fell down in the pecking order at Santiago Bernabeu. It has been known for a while that the player wants to move away from the Spanish capital in order to play first-team football ahead of the World Cup.
Despite the fact that the former Manchester United striker was wanted by several Premier League clubs, van Nistelrooy turned his back on a return to English football in order to sign an 18-month deal with Hamburg, who are currently fifth in the Bundesliga and still in with a chance of title glory.
