Hamburg youngster to join Everton

Hamburg youngster Shkodran Mustafi has agreed a deal to join Everton at the end of the season.

The Germany Under-17 international is out of contract in the summer and has agreed a three-year deal with Hamburg.

Hamburg youth boss Jens Todt told Hamburger Abendblatt: “We have really tried to keep him here, but we cannot compete with English clubs financially.

“It is hard to accept, but it won’t destroy us. We just hope it is not a regular occurrence.”

Mustafi added: “It is a crucial step for my career, but it was hard for me to leave.”
