Hamburger HSV fans are counting down the hours ahead of Thursday’s Uefa Cup quarterfinal first leg clash against Manchester City at the Nordbank Arena in Hamburg. It promises to be a thrilling match under the floodlights and a huge crowd is expected to attend the game.
The home side are being plagued by injuries and will probably be without several important first team members. Apart from the long term injured group consisting of Bastian Reinhardt, Thimothee Atouba, Romeo Castelen and Maxim Choupo-Moting, as well as Guy Demel and Alex Silva, Paolo Guerrero (bruised ankle) and Collin Benjamin (thigh problem) are considered doubtful.
Benjamin was only able to do a little light jogging with fitness coach Markus Günther on Tuesday. At the same time Guerrero was spending time working in the gym. Martin Jol, who never lost to City during his three seasons as Tottenham boss, told hsv.de, “It will be a tight run thing regarding Guerrero and Benjamin.”
