Hamburger is on the verge of signing keeper Rene Adler from Bayer Leverkusen, German newspaper Kicker reports.
The Germany international has just few months left on his contract at Bay Arena, and he decided to break off negotiations regarding a new deal after he lost a starting place to Bernd Leno.
The 27-year-old has been free to speak to interested clubs and Kicker now claims that he is set to agree a summer move to Hamburger SV.
HSV officials opened negotiations with the player’s representatives few weeks ago, but have finally made a breakthrough.
The talented keeper has agreed a four-year deal with Imtech Arena outfit and the deal should be announced later this week.
Adler has been regarded as one of the best keepers in Bundesliga, but he missed the first part of the season through a serious injury.
The 27-year-old was unable to return to the side after recovering from injury and he failed to make a single appearance this season.
