Hamilton Academical FC have been promoted to the Scottish Premier League after lifting the first division championship with a 2-0 win against Clyde FC.

“This is the first time that Hamilton have won any championship on their own territory,” said manager Billy Reid. “It means so much to me. I thought my players were magnificent today and over the season I think we deserved to win it.” Earlier, Celtic FC beat Aberdeen FC 1-0 to move two points clear of Rangers FC at the top-flight summit, albeit having played three games more.
