(GSM) – West Ham United are leading the race to sign unsettled Juventus striker David Trézéguet, according to the Mirror.

Trézéguet, 32, has been subject to much speculation regarding his future with the former France international reportedly deemed surplus to requirements by new Juventus coach Luigi Del Neri.

The Frenchman’s situation in Turin has alerted a host of European clubs, with Primera Division duo Hércules and Real Zaragoza having expressed their interest in signing Trézéguet.

Premier League clubs Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa are also thought to be monitoring Trézéguet’s situation, with the latter expected to make a decision over his future by the end of the week.

It has been reported that Juventus are keen on completing a swap deal with Liverpool in order to land Emiliano Insúa, who would solve Juventus’ left-back problem with Fabio Grosso tipped to leave the club.

According to Trézéguet’s agent, the Reds are ready to offload both Insúa and Sotirios Kyrgiakos to Turin in order to sign Trézéguet.

Trézéguet has been at Juventus for a decade after joining la Vecchia Signora in 2000 from French outfit Monaco.

Trézéguet has scored 138 goals in 245 appearances for the Italian giants.
