According to reports in Italy, Marek Hamsik has informed his teammates that he will be leaving Napoli imminently in order to join Dalian Yifang. The Chinese Super League side have been linked with the 31 year old for quite some time now, with the Slovakian midfielder edging closer and closer towards what will easily be the biggest payday of his career. The Slovakia legend has been with Napoli since way back in 2007, when he signed from Brescia. In that time he’s scored over 100 goals in over 500 appearances, establishing himself as a club legend. He is their all time top goalscorer, ahead of Diego Maradona, and has also made more appearances than anyone else.

Hamsik isn’t the first player to take this financial leap of faith, and given how much money is being thrown around over there, he almost certainly will not be the last.

Dalian Yifang is also the home of Nicolas Gaitan and Yannick Carrasco.
