Udinese goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has poured cold water on speculations linking him with a summer exit from Friuli.
The Slovenian international is widely regarded as one of the best keepers in Serie A and he was tipped to become the most in-demand property of the summer transfer market.
Nonetheless, even if the player himself recently hinted that he would be interested in joining a big European club, it appears that he has changed his mind.
Handanovic says he is perfectly happy at Friuli and that he doesn’t plan to leave the Zebrette in the near future.
“I am proud to wear this jersey and we are confirming our status at the highest levels,” Handanovic told Udinese Channel.
“I am in my full maturity as a player, am very happy in Udine and can see my future at the Friuli with the ambition to achieve great targets nationally and internationally.”
With just two rounds to go the Zebrette sit tied on points with third-placed Napoli and Handanovic hopes they can pip the Azzurri to the final Champions League berth.
“We are there with Napoli and will try to take our chances, aware we have to give our all in the next two games.
“In order to keep those Champions League dreams alive, we must play like Udinese from here to the end of the season.”
Udinese play host to Genoa on Sunday afternoon before traveling to Stadio Angelo Massimino to face Catania on the final day of the season.
