Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has finally ended speculation regarding his long-term future at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
The Slovenia number one was heavily linked with a summer exit due to the fact that his current contract expires at the end of the season.
Nevertheless, Handanovic ultimately remained at Inter Milan and has now moved to reveal that he will be signing a contract extension in the coming days.
“I’m happy to have stayed here,” the Slovenian told Sport Mediaset. “The renewal? I think that I will sign in the next few days.”
Samir Handanovic has spent the majority of his professional career in Italy, joining Udinese in 2004 and also enjoying loan spells with Treviso, Lazio and Rimini.
The 31-year-old signed for Inter Milan three years ago and went on to make 11 Serie A appearances for the Nerazzurri.
And despite being heavily linked with a move away from the club, Handanovic has decided to remain at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, probably encouraged by team’s strong start to the new season.
