Hannover have confirmed that they are in talks to sign Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf.
The Senegalese striker has failed to make a single appearance for the Red Devils this season and he will be farmed out on loan in January.
Sir Alex Ferguson believes that another loan spell would further aid the player’s development, after he impressed on loan at Blackburn last season.
Bundesliga side Hannover have expressed an interest in signing the 24-year-old and they have already contacted the player’s agent.
“There have been discussions with his agent. We have shared our thoughts. I am now waiting for a response,” Hannover sporting director Jorg Schmadke told Bild. “He is fast, robust, and direct.”
Hannover already have good options up front in Mohammed Abdellaoue, Didier Ya Konan and Jan Schlaudraff.
However, with bigger clubs showing interest in Abdellaoue and Konan, the Germans are eager to sign another striker before they let one of the two leave the club.
Hannover have been tracking Diouf even before he made a switch to Manchester United from Molde, but they have now reignited their interest in the player.
