Hannover sporting director Dirk Dufner has insisted that the club will not be selling striker Mame Biram Diouf this transfer window.
Diouf, who joined Hannover from Manchester United in 2012, has been linked with a move away from the AWD-Arena, with his contract set to expire in June 2014.
Dufner revealed over the weekend that Stoke City have made an offer to the 25-year-old, with the Bundesliga side already looking at names to replace the Senegal international.
Hannover enjoyed a respectable campaign last season, finishing ninth domestically and reaching the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League, while Diouf was prolific for Mirko Slomka’s men, scoring 17 goals in 36 games.
Dufner is understandably reluctant to lose a player of Diouf’s abilities, and stressed that they would not be parting company with the 25-year-old.
He told Bild: “Diouf will definitely stay until the end of the season.”
Diouf has scored twice in 15 international appearances, but has featured just three times for Senegal over the last two seasons.
