German Bundesliga side Hannover 96 have parted company with trainer Andreas Bergmann. The 50 year old was fired after the club went seven games without a win.  Saturday’s 3-0 loss to fellow  strugglers Hertha Berlin was the last straw for the men in power at Hannover, who made an announcement saying that they no longer felt Bergmann could help them achieve their goal of Bundesliga survival.

Hannover’s last win in charge of Bergmann came on October 31, when they beat Cologne 1-0. Since then,  the club have picked up just two points from seven games- drawing against Hamburger SV and Bayer Leverkusen, and suffering defeats against Schalke, Bayern, Gladbach, Bochum and Hertha. Bergmann took charge of the club in August after the club sacked Dieter Hecking.

Hannover are away at Mainz this weekend in the Bundesliga.

Hannover are yet to announce Bergmann’s successor but indicated that a replacement would be unveiled soon.
