German Bundesliga side Hannover have announced the capture of forward Mame Biram Diouf from Manchester United.
The German were supposedly in talks with Manchester United over a loan deal for the Senegalese striker, but they eventually managed to agree an outright transfer.
The 24-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the 96ers and is set to join his new teammates on Monday.
Hannover boss Mirko Slomka was delighted with the latest addition to his attacking line.
“I am pleased that we now have another alternative for our attack with Mame Diouf,” Hannover coach Mirko Slomka told the club’s website.
“We are now going to have to integrate him quickly so that he can help us with our upcoming challenges in the Bundesliga and the Europa League.”
Diouf arrived to Old Trafford in a €4.5 million deal from Molde in January 2010, but has since made just five substitute appearances in the Premiership for the Red Devils.
The Senegalese spent last season on loan at Blackburn, where he scored just 3 goals in 27 league appearances.
He is set to face a stiff competition for a starting place at Hannover, with Mohammed Abdellaoue, Didier Ya Konan and Jan Schlaudraff vying for the two places up front.
