2.Bundesliga side Hansa Rostock have completed the signing of Icelandic duo Gardar Johannsson and Helgi Valur Danielsson. Striker Johannsson, 29, comes from Norwegian club Frederikstad while midfielder Danielsson, 28, has been signed from Swedish club IF Elfsborg for a fee of 200,000 euros.
Johansson started his senior career with KR Reykjavík and was with them for three years before moving to Valur, also based in the Icelandic capital city of Reykjavík. A month later, Frederikstad bought him for 2 million Norwegian Kronas.
Danielsson rotated between his native Fylkir and English club Peterborough till 2005 before transferring to Osters IF. In the winter of 2007 he agreed to join Elfsborg.
Both Johansson and Danielsson have been capped by Iceland at international level. They join Andreas Dahlen, Orestes, Bradley Carnell and Malick Bouivard in the short list of non German players at Hansa.
