Everton could make a shock move for former England international Owen Hargreaves to boost their options in midfield, that’s according to the Metro.
He has been without a club since the end of last season, when Manchester City released the midfielder after making just four appearances for the club and once again suffering a number of injury problems.
The 31-year-old has been plagued by injuries throughout his career and many people doubt as to whether he would be able to play a significant amount of games in a season.
However, it seems as though David Moyes could take a risk of Hargreaves and give him another chance to prove his worth in the English Premier League.
This comes after a potential one-year deal to Ligue 1 outfit Lille has fallen through. It seemed as though he was ready to sign for the French side, but the deal could not be done.
The Canada-born midfielder has had offers to play in the Championship and the MLS, but he seems keen to remain in the Premier League.
Moyes is said to offer Hargreaves a pay-as-you-play deal, which would see a basic salary of just £10,000-a-week.
The transfer could go through soon, providing that the former Manchester United man can pass an all important medical.
