Looking to get some revenge after suffering a 2-1 loss to Croatia in the World Cup semi-finals, England will travel to the Stadion HNK Rijeka to face Croatia on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Croatia may have impressed on route to the final out in Russia, Zlatko Dalić’s side have struggled after this summer. Shipping four against France in the final, the Blazers are also coming off the back of a very lackluster showing in their 6-0 hammering at the hands of Spain last month. In fact, after needing penalties in all of the knockout stages of the World Cup, they have failed to win any of their last five in 90 minutes. It will be their defensive issues causing Dalić the biggest headache. Now shipping nine in their last three, they also haven’t recorded a clean sheet in their last seven.

As for Gareth Southgate’s side, after matching England’s best finish on foreign soil, The Three Lions will be desperate to gain some revenge on their slayers. However, while they may have impressed over the summer and picked up a 1-0 win over Switzerland last month, they did show defensive issues both against the Swiss and Spain in their 2-1 loss. If England are to pick up their first win of the tournament, they will be looking for captain Harry Kane to lead from the front. The Tottenham striker now has four in his last four for the Lilywhites and also grabbed the Golden Boot at the World Cup.
