Barcelona beat Liverpool at the Nou Camp by 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal clash, with the return leg set to take place at Anfield next week.
Even though Liverpool played a fairly even game against the hosts, they failed to take their chances while the Catalans took theirs. It was former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez who gave Barcelona the lead in the first half, Lionel Messi doubled it with a simple tap-in following the Uruguayan’s shot against the crossbar, before he hammered the final nail with a superbly taken 83rd-minute free-kick.
