Havertz to Chelsea depends on UCL?

According to a recent report from Bild, Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz will only make the jump over to join Chelsea if they’re able to qualify for the UEFA Champions League this season.

One of the core reasons behind his desire to leave Leverkusen stems from their inability to qualify for the competition, and now, the club is willing to agree to his exit – despite him still having two years left on his current deal.

The Blues are the favourites to sign him, but right now, they aren’t willing to pay the £90 million asking price that has been suggested.

As has been noted more times than we can count now, Chelsea fans around the world want to see the club make some defensive investments before they start trying to overload their attacking options. Still, even with those requests, it feels like the move for Havertz is inevitable at this stage.
