French daily newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Hebei China Fortune have won the race to sign Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi from Paris Saint-Germain.
Media reports suggested few days ago that the 30-year-old would be moving to China this winter, with Shanghai Shenhua emerging as the early favourites for his signature.
However, it has now been revealed that Lavezzi will instead join Hebei China Fortune on a two-year deal worth between €13m and €15m per season.
The Argentina star joins Gervinho and Stephane M’Bia, who had earlier signed for the Samba Kings.
The final details of the transfer were being formalized yesterday evening between the two clubs, and the deal could be made official during the day.
Ezequiel Lavezzi was heavily linked with a Bosman move to Italian Serie A at the end of the season, but he ultimately could not resist lucrative offers from China, with PSG making sure to earn some money in the process as well.
