Henderson set for Bournemouth switch

Bournemouth are set to sign West Ham United goalkeeper Stephen Henderson on loan, Sky Sports understands.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe is keen to widen his options in said position after current number one Ryan Allsop was shown a straight red card in the 2-1 defeat to Leeds United on Tuesday evening.

Henderson, who moved to Upton Park initially on loan last March before signing permanently two months later, is yet to make his league debut for the Hammers with his only appearances for the club coming in last season’s League Cup.

The former Republic of Ireland U21 international did play twenty-four times over two separate loan spells with Ipswich Town last season, whilst he has also counts Portsmouth, Bristol City and Yeovil Town among his former clubs.

Should the deal be completed, the 25 year old will become the second player to move from East London to Bournemouth this week, after Jack Collison made the switch on Tuesday.
