French daily newspaper L’Equipe has revealed that Brazilian defender Henrique is set to leave Bordeaux at the end of the season.
The 31-year-old has a year left on his deal at Stade Chaban-Delmas, but he is eager to return to Brazil for personal reasons.
Having been loyal to the club during the nine years he spent in France, les Girondins are prepared to let him leave without compensation.
According to L’Equipe, the player is almost certain to join Brazilian giants Fluminense on a free transfer.
Henrique began his professional career at Flamengo and went on to make 71 league appearances for the club before leaving for Bordeaux in 2005.
He has since featured in 139 league matches for les Girondins, scoring a total of 10 goals in the process.
Henrique has won no less than six trophies with Bordeaux, lifting his only league title at the end of the 2008/2009 season.
