Thierry Henry and Andres Iniesta should be fit to face Manchester United in the Champions League final if their recovery from injury continues on schedule, Barcelona said on Wednesday.
The French striker and the Spanish midfielder “continue the process of recovery” with “the intention and the will” to play in the final in Rome, a Barcelona spokesman told AFP Wednesday.
They should achieve their goal if “nothing” affects their recovery, he said.
Spanish media said Iniesta, who suffered a tear in his right thigh, seems to be recovering faster than Henry, who has a ligament injury in his right knee.
Defender Gerard Pique said he was also hopeful that the two key players would be fit for the match.
“They are working morning and afternoon to recover,” he said.
