Henry uncertain starter for Barca in Bayern return

French striker Thierry Henry is not certain to start Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final return at Bayern Munich owing to a fever, coach Josep Guardiola said Monday.

“He has a fever,” said Guardiola, who hopes to lead Barca to a third title after 1992 and 2006.

“We will see how he is when he gets up tomorrow and take a decision during the day,” added Guardiola.

“He is an important member of the side,” added Guardiola of the former Arsenal striker, who was on the losing side in the final three years ago.

Guardiola will watch the match from the stands having been sent from the dugout in the first game, which the Catalan club won 4-0 at the Nou Camp in all but wrapping up their place in the last four with Henry on the scoresheet.

But Guardiola echoed star man Lionel Messi in warning that the job was not finished.

“Just because we played well in the first match does not mean we will do the same in the return. We have a good lead but in football anything’s possible.”

“It’s not all done and dusted yet. Bayern will be out for revenge in front of their own supporters,” Messi had warned in an earlier press conference.

The Argentine was one of Bayern’s chief torturers in the opening leg with two goals to become this season’s tournament top scorer.
