After a gap of nearly ten years, Argentine striker Hernan Crespo has reunited with his first European club- Parma. The 34 year old has signed a six month contract with the Gialloblu, whom he represented between 1996 and 2000 after moving from River Plate.

To get Crespo to the Stadio Ennio Tardini, Parma had to work out a complex deal with Genoa and Atalanta.  Parma’s Nicola Amuroso has joined Atalanta on a one and a half year deal, and Genoa in turn have got young Roberto Acquafresca back. Acquafresca was on loan at Atalanta from Genoa.

Crespo could make his debut for Parma on Sunday against Internazionale,  the club he represented before joining Genoa last summer.

Crespo had a phenomenal strike rate in his earlier stint at Parma, scoring one goal in nearly every two games.
