Hernandez in line for Hull deal

The Mirror understands that Hull City are ready to make Abel Hernandez their highest earner as they look to fend off interest from potential suitors.

The Uruguay international, who signed for the Tigers from Palermo for £10m two years ago, was subject to interest from West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa, Fiorentina and Napoli in the summer.

A number of clubs are likely to register their interest in the twenty-six year old when the transfer window reopens in January though Hull are keen to secure his services.

Since arriving in England Hernandez has racked up seventy-nine appearances in all competitions, scoring twenty-seven times with his one and only goal so far this season coming in a 2-0 win at Swansea City back in August.

Mike Phealan’s side won their first two games of the season but have taken just a point since and are now priced at 4/5 to be relegated.
