Lazio midfielder Hernanes de Carvalho Andrade is set to request a January transfer, Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed.
The Brazilian midfielder is heavily linked with a move to English Premier League, with Arsenal and Tottenham among the clubs showing interest.
Lazio have so far managed to keep hold of their prized asset, but La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Hernanes will ask the club chiefs to be allowed to move clubs in January.
The Brazilian is reportedly disappointed by the club’s failure to mount a serious challenge for Champions League places and is determined to continue his career elsewhere.
Hernanes has a contract until June 2015 at Stadio Olimpico and is valued at €25 million by the Biancocelesti.
The 28-year-old has been in scintillating form ever since he joined Lazio from Sao Paulo, and has scored no less than 32 goals in 107 Serie A matches for the Biancocelesti.
