Herrera closing in on new Manchester United deal

Ander Herrera is poised to sign a new contract at Manchester United, according to the Metro.

The Spain international had been linked with return to his home country during the summer with Barcelona eyeing a move to secure his services.

However he is continuing to impress manager Jose Mourinho, who brought him on for last fifteen minutes if Sunday’s 4-0 victory over Everton.

He has started just one league game this season and is yet to complete ninety minutes but is set to extend his stay at Old Trafford having signed from Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2014.

In total, the twenty-eight year old has racked up a total of one hundred and twenty-six appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils, scoring fifteen goals while he was part of the squads that won the FA Cup in 2016 and the League Cup and Europa League earlier this year.
