“First and foremost, we’re happy that we have Marko. I’d always prefer that a player helps me out for a year than not at all. We’ll certainly talk to Liverpool about the next season.”
Those are the words of Hertha Berlin’s sporting director Michael Preetz, who seemingly confirmed that the German side want to keep hold of Marko Grujic following his current loan spell. Grujic has been with Hertha since last year when he signed on loan from Liverpool, and he’s already made quite the impression. The 22 year old midfielder is helping Hertha in their push for a spot in Europe, which seems like a legitimate possibility now. Grujic was the first signing under the Jurgen Klopp era, but it’s safe to say that things haven’t quite worked out as he’d initially hoped they would at Anfield.
Grujic, who went to the 2018 FIFA World Cup with Serbia, has also spent time on loan with Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff.
