Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes is brimming with confidence ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League match away at Lille.
Heynckes has little doubt the Bavarians have what it takes to get a good result, despite losing their previous Group F match against BATE.
“The Champions League is the most prestigious competition in football and we are going to give everything for a victory,” he told reporters.
“When I look at our statistics I can see that we play well when we need to, and we win and get good results when we have to, even against big teams like Villarreal, Manchester City or Real Madrid.”
Heynckes then went on to stress that Lille will not be pushovers.
“Our scouts went to watch LOSC’s weekend game against Bordeaux, and I saw it on television. They are one of the best teams in France, regardless of the league table,” he said.
“They are well organised and have a good structure. We are going to give everything we have and I am happy to have a number of experienced players.”
Bayern have collected three points from two games, but Rudi Garcia’s side have lost both of their European encounters this season.
