Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has criticised their side’s performance despite earning a comfortable 2-0 victory over Furth.

The Bavarian side secured a successful start to 2013 with a brace scored by Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic.

But Bayern’s 67-year-old coach was critical of his team’s display.

“We’re pleased we’ve won and kept another clean sheet. But my team knows we didn’t play very well today,” he told reporters.

“Our play was cramped and not as fluid as we’re used to.”

And despite his two goals, 26-year-old Mandzukic was concerned only with the performance of his team.

“It’s not important whether I score, it’s important we win as a team. We’ve worked very hard over the last few weeks. We didn’t play as well as we can today, but we’re happy,” added the former Wolfsburg forward.

Bayern currently lie nine points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and next face Stuttgart.
