Hibbert pens new Everton deal

Veteran Everton full-back Tony Hibbert has signed a new two year contract with the club, according to Sky Sports.

The 33 year old has been with the Merseyside club since 1991, making his debut ten years later, and has since notched up over three hundred appearances for the club in all competitions.

He made played just once in the Premier League last season, and had been linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion after they appointed former Toffees assistant Alan Irvine as manager last month, but will remain now remain at Goodison Park until the end of the 2015/16 campaign.

Manager Roberto Martinez has expressed how vital Hibbert’s experience is in a squad full of promising young talent.

Everton finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season, and they begin the 2014/15 campaign with a trip to newly promoted Leicester City where they can be backed at 5/4 to take all three points.
