While Celtic may be marching towards the Scotish Premiership title, Neil Lennon’s Hibernian side are enjoying their own impressive run of form after being promoted last season.
For the hosts on Friday night, Tommy Wright’s St Johnstone side look set for their second consecutive finish in the bottom half of the SPL table. Currently sat eighth in the table, while the Saints do hold an eight bottom buffer over the drop zone, Wright’s side sit 18 points adrift of the top-four. After only scoring 29 league goals this campaign, the Saints now have the second worst attacking record in the entire SPL, their main problem has been a lack of an out an out goalscorer, no St Johnstone player has scored more than four league goals this season. as for their recent form, St Johnstone have just two SPL wins in their last 12 attempts.
As for the visitors, Neil Lennon’s Hibernian side have enjoyed a successful return to Scotland’s top division. While Hibbs currently sit fourth in the SPL table, Lennon’s side are now just three points adrift of Aberdeen in third and a victory on Friday night will see them briefly leapfrog Aberdeen. Still dreaming of European football at Easter Road next season, Lennon’s side are now unbeaten in their last six SPL matches, winning four of those contests, including an impressive 2-1 victory at Ibrox.
