(GSM) – Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks insists the club will keep hold of their top talent. The likes of Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres have been linked with several top clubs but Hicks maintains the duo is staying put at Anfield.
A disappointing season and high debts, speculation has mounted that several frustrated faces may be tempted to exit.
However, Hicks has come out to brush away any chance of offloading their star men in the summer.
“We have no intention of selling any of our top players,” he told Sky Sports News.
“We have a substantial transfer budget in place. There is so much misinformation about transfer spending – it has more then doubled under the ownership of George and myself over the past three years.
“We will make a considerable investment this summer, but it is really about getting the right players.”
