The national teams of Russia and Argentina are to meet for a friendly in August, as both sides prepare for crucial World Cup qualifiers.

The Russians are currently in second place in Group 4 of the European World Cup qualifiers. Guus Hiddink’s men will use the match with Argentina to prepare for their matches with Liechtenstein and, more importantly, Wales. These are scheduled for September 5th and 9th respectively.

Argentina meanwhile, are in fourth position in the South American qualifying group and face tough games versus Brazil and group leaders Paraguay in September.

The match will be played on August 12th.
