(GSM) – The High Court has ruled in favour of Liverpool against the injunction gained by owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

Hicks had gained an injunction from a State Court in Texas to block a takeover by New England Sports Ventures (NESV).

NESV’s takeover was to be finalised at a board meeting yesterday in London, in the presence of prospective new owner John Henry.

But following the turn of events, the Anfield board of directors and the Royal Bank of Scotland took the issue again at the High Court to have the restrictions lifted.

And Justice Christopher Floyd ruled in favour of the parties, the board of directors and the Royal Bank of Scotland, insisting: “This case has nothing to do with Texas.”

Justice Floyd has given Hicks and Gillett to until 4pm on Friday to compile with the order.
