Lille full-back Sebastien Corchia has moved to confirm that Paris Saint-Germain have been showing interest in his services.
The Saints were determined to bring the 25-year-old to Parc des Princes in the summer as a replacement for Gregory van der Wiel, but they ultimately failed to agree a deal.
Corchia claims he was aware of the PSG link, but he had no problems with staying at Lille.
“When I heard the rumours about PSG, of course I took notice”, Corchia confessed to Omnisport. “I’m from Paris and I played for PSG when I was young.
”But, it’s not something that was really a problem for me because I am happy at Lille.”
Capable of operating as a right-back or right winger, Corchia is widely regarded as one of France’s best full-backs, and he has so far been called to the France national team on a couple of occasions, but has yet to be handed his international debut.
The highly rated footballer has so far resisted temptation to leave les Dogues for greener pastures, despite having been linked with quite a few top sides. Corchia managed a total of 6 goals and 7 assists in 97 competitive outings for Lille.
