According to Marca, Gonzalo Higuain has agreed on a deal to join Chelsea from AC Milan. The news comes in the midst of the Blues going on a bit of a spending spree, as they go in search of a natural goalscorer to help their top four push in the Premier League. The Argentine forward has played for a series of top European clubs throughout the course of his career, with one of those clubs being Napoli.
During his time with Napoli he was playing under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri, who has kept his eye on Higuain ever since coaching him.
Higuain appeared to be on the verge of joining Chelsea back in the summer transfer window but the deal never quite materialised, but now, it’s safe to say that Chelsea are a little bit more desperate – which could lead to an improved offer.
Chelsea are coming off the back of a narrow loss to Tottenham in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi final.
