Gonzalo Higuain became Real Madrid’s hero on a Saturday night when he struck the only goal of the match against Malaga to secure all three points for his side to keep their title hopes alive.

“I do not remember ever scoring a goal from a move like that before… advancing so much with the ball,” he told AS.

“Fernando Gago passed the ball to me, I beat the first defender and then I just ran through the empty space. The whole time I was thinking about trying to finish off the move with a goal. Fortunately, everything turned out good,” he added.
