According to Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan may not end up making their loan deal for Gonzalo Higuain permanent. The Argentine veteran made the jump to the San Siro at the start of the season, but courtesy of reports that Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be returning to Milan, the club are willing to let him go back to Juventus.
Budget issues are believed to be a factor in this, too, although it’ll be interesting to see whether or not this prompts another spell of interest from Chelsea. It doesn’t seem like Juventus have any plans for him any time soon, and the Blues could really benefit from his natural finishing. There’s no guarantee that he’d be a success in the Premier League, of course, but much like Ibrahimovic he’s done well wherever he’s gone thus far in his career.
Milan could always end up changing their mind, but a lot of this depends on how he performs throughout the rest of his time there.
